Poker - How To Build A Bankroll

Building a bankroll playing Poker is one of the most important steps towards becoming a serious Poker player. Before you even decide to play Poker, put aside some money that you can afford to lose. I would recommend searching for online Poker bonuses and depositing a small amount. Look for online poker rooms that offer a deposit bonus simply for signing up. After you have your account name selected and money deposited, it's time to start playing poker. The natural tendency is to play the highest limits possible because you can win more. If you are serious about building a bankroll, you should start at the lowest limit possible. Play in some single table tournaments called Sit And Goes. In these one-table tournaments, you pay a small buy-in and get tournament chips. Usually, the top two or three players get a cash prize. By playing these small buy-in tournaments, you will learn a lot about poker at a very low cost.

Always play at a level where you can afford to lose the money. Slowly and surely you will get better at poker. As you get better, you will win more money and your bankroll will start to grow. Move up to the next poker limit when you are comfortable with the amount of money in play. If you find that the money is affecting your decisions, you are playing at too high of a limit. Move back to the lower limit where you are comfortable and continue to build your bankroll. Focus on your skill level rather than the size of your bankroll. Fight the urge to play at limits that are too large for your bankroll. Most players are playing at a limit that is too high for their bankroll. Usually, these players are the ones who eventually lose and start back at square one. Bankroll building requires patience, persistence, and an ambition to improve your skill.
