How to Win the Lottery - How to Pick the Winning Lotto Numbers

Anyone can figure out how to win the lottery or at the very least increase their odds of winning the lottery if shown the right way. I know there are several systems out there on the market that say they will show you how to pick the winning lottery numbers. So what is the best way to pick winning lottery numbers?

First of all you are going to have to do a little work. Most people will tell you that winning the lottery is totally random and that you cannot pick what the winning numbers will be and it is all just plain dumb luck. Without getting too complicated, all you have to do is look at a few how to win the lottery products and check out the system and see what results it has. It is that simple. What you need to do is go with the system or product that is a proven winner. If a product has proven itself then there must be something of value in the information that is being provided.

You need to remember that looking for ways on how to win the lottery and winning the lottery are very different realities. One states that finding a secret formula that will help you win the lottery and the other is what you can expect if you do manage to discover the elusive formula and apply it.

Are you ready to win the lotto?
When someone wins the lottery it might not be the best thing that has ever happened to you. The truth is in several instances it has been the worst thing to happen to some lotto winners. Some people end up losing all of their winnings after a few years and end up being broke. How can something like this happen? Well it is very easily actually, if you have not had that kind of money before, the chances are good that you won't properly manage your money and you could be talked into doing things with your money that might not be in your best interest.

To make matters worse winning the lottery has caused bitter feuds among friends and family. There have been cases of family members suing each other over the lottery winnings, each person stating that they have claim to the money. Hitting the jackpot can tear families apart if you are not careful.

One thing that should not ignore is the fact that many people have won the lottery using lotto systems themselves. This is the real way to find out how to win the lottery. When everything is said and done it is the results that count. All of the over-rated and hyped up,math equations and formulas don't mean anything if the lotto numbers you pick do not come up.

When you do a little background work you can eliminate a lot of the products out there to just a couple that you feel have real potential to deliver on their promises. Use the system yourself to see if their way on how to win the lottery does really work. Some of these products are really interesting but just because they hold your interest does not mean that they will work.

Only two possible outcomes:

1. You will not win and you will have lost the money that you paid for the lottery book.

2. You will win the lotto and the small investment that you made will look like peanuts compared to your winnings.

Just about everyone would like to know "how to win the lottery". The question that you need to ask yourself is are you ready to invest for the cost of the lottery book and satisfy your curiosity, or are you going to let this opportunity just pass you by?

Jack Straus

Jack "Treetop" Straus was one imposing character. At 6 feet 6 inches tall, he earned his nickname "Treetop." He attended Texas A&M in the 40's where he was rumored to play basketball. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Strauss took a job as a teacher.

Not much is know about how Straus got his start in playing Poker, but he was one of the original road gamblers with the likes of Doyle Brunson, Johnny Moss, and Amarillo Slim. Straus was known as a very creative player that liked to bluff a lot. In fact, one of the most popular stories about him involves him playing a hand blind after going on a rush. After raising, he looked down to see 7-2. The flop came with 7-3-3 and Straus bet out and faced a big raise. Straus figured that his hand was beat at the time but he made the call. On the turn of a 2, Straus made big bet. His opponent started to think and Straus offered him the opportunity to see one of his cards in exchange for $25. He even offered to let the opponent pick His opponent paid him and picked the card that turned out to be the deuce. His opponent eventually put Straus on pocket 2's to give him a full house and so he folded. After the hand he became known as one of the best bluffers ever.

Jack Straus' two greatest Poker accomplishments came at the World Series of Poker. First, he won the 2-7 Lowball bracelet in 1973 to take home $16,500. The next accomplishment went down in poker legend not just because of what he accomplished, but how he accomplished it.

On the first day of the 1983 Main Event, Jack Straus moved all of his chips into the middle and was called. He subsequently lost the hand. As he went to leave, a chip was discovered that belonged to Straus but was not put in the pot. Some legends say it was under a napkin, while others say it was under his chair. Either event, the floor staff let him continue playing with that single chip and after a while made a comeback to take the chip lead. This is where the phrase "a chip and a chair" came from. The next day Straus made the final table that included Dewey Tomko, Doyle Brunson, and Berry Johnston. Straus made it head-up with Tomko and in the end Straus emerged victorious and took home the bracelet and the $520,000 prize.

Straus would continue to play in tournaments but his style was really more suited to cash game play due to his tendency to bluff a lot. He did well in several smaller events, but nothing compared to his WSOP finishes. Straus died unexpectedly in November 1988 while playing in a high stakes cash game. A heart attack was the cause of death. It is unknown how Straus would have fared in the current poker climate. Chances are that he would have stuck to cash games and thrived. Of course we will never know but the legend of Jack Straus will live on.

Lottery Millionaires - How Many People Win at Least a Million Dollars Every Year?

What do these people have in common: George Martinek, Susan Hannoun, Lori Boyle, Bernadette Gietka, Neal Wanless, and Bob Guerzon? Answer: They are all lottery millionaires. They, along with thousands of people every year, defy the odds and win the lotto jackpot. We hear about jackpot winners every week on the news. But have you ever considered how many new millionaires are created by the lottery each year? How many people win at least a million dollars?

According to the TLC television show, "The Lottery Changed My Life," more than 1600 new lottery millionaires are created each year. That doesn't include people that have won jackpots of, say, $100,000 because than the number would be much higher. Still, 1600 is quite a high number.

If 1600 win at least a million in the lotto every year, it means that there are more than 130 each month, more than 30 each week, and more than 4 each day. That's a lot of winners.

Perhaps you're inspired by these numbers. Perhaps you think that since there are so many big lottery winners, you're time will come one day. I don't mean to crash the party, but perhaps you should think again. The odds of winning a million dollar jackpot are bad. 1600 yearly jackpot winners isn't that big of a number when you consider how many people actually play. Hundreds of millions of people buy billions of lottery tickets each year and only a small fraction of those people actually win a big jackpot.

Don't get discouraged, though. The lottery is a game of random luck and you might get lucky one day and become a new lottery millionaire. Good luck!

5 Top Tips To Win More With Any Lottery

Here's 5 top tips to bear in mind next time you complete your lottery playslip. They won't increase your CHANCES of winning - because ONLY more entries can do that.

BUT they can significantly increase the AMOUNT you win when your numbers do come up.

How?

Because all 5 lottery tips are based on avoiding the way a lot of other people pick their numbers. If you pick lottery numbers the same way as most people do, then when you hit the jackpot, you share that prize with everybody else who picked the same numbers.

That can turn a jackpot pool of millions into a prize of just thousands! It happens all too often - so please don't let it happen to you.

Here's those quick tips for making sure that your lottery jackpot is the life changing sum you are looking for:

[1] Don't pick numbers that have already won, especially not from recent draws. Many players believe that winnings numbers are somehow lucky and therefore more likely to come up. Of course that isn't true, but a lot of people do it.

[2] Don't pick numbers based on an arithmetic sequences, such as 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, or 01, 11, 21, 31, 41, 49. People like number patterns - you would be stunned at how many people pick this way every single week.

[3] Don't pick numbers according to a 'tip' service. Just imagine how many other people will use the same numbers!

[4] Don't pick numbers purely according to family birthdays. Enormous numbers of lottery players choose the day of the birthday of family members when selecting lottery numbers. But there are only 31 days at most in a month - which means an awful lot of people pick all their numbers in that range.

[5] Don't make a pattern on your playslip. Diagonal or straight lines in any direction, star shapes, boxes, zig-zags etc. You might think who else would do that? The answer is anywhere from tens of people to tens of THOUSANDS of people!

The easiest, fastest way to pick better lottery numbers, is to pick them totally at random. So pull scraps of paper out of a bag. It won't guarantee NOT picking a 'bad' set of numbers, but at least there's a good chance you won't be sharing your lottery millions with a hundred other 'lucky' winners.

Are you ready for more tips on how to win more often when playing the lottery?

If so then read below for a free report that uncovers the biggest mistakes most lottery players are making, and how you can avoid them.

The Elf on a Shelf - 10 Sets of Mischievous Ideas For Adding Magic to Your Holiday Season

The Elf on the Shelf Christmas and Elf Magic traditions are sweeping the nation -- for good reason. They offer a delightful way to build excitement for the holidays, and keep children on their best behavior. Here is how they work.

The "official" Elf on the Shelf, Elf Magic Elf or a another elf, arrives at your home early in the Christmas season to spend the holidays with your family.

Each night the Elf on a Shelf returns to the North Pole, while your children are sleeping, to report to Santa regarding their behavior.

While the Elf on the Shelf Elves have a more staid reputation, the Elf Magic Elves are a mischievous bunch, and have a tendency to make a mess or pull a crazy stunt while everyone is asleep. Your kids will love to wake up each morning and see what trouble the Elf got into the night before.

Here are ten ideas found around the internet and from local families to inspire your elf:

Elves Love to Do What Your Kids Love To Do

Elves adapt quickly to a household, and many mornings are found busy with the favorite activities of the kids who live there. Reading favorite books, playing games (including the Wii or Nintendo DS), having a tea party with best-loved dolls, and riding skateboards are all favorite Elf past times.

Elves Are Into Computers and Social Media

Elves in homes with teens have been known to have email, Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep an online eye on the kids and send funny emails, status updates and tweets. Many elves also seem to surf the internet late at night, finding fun new sites for the kids to enjoy.

Elves Love to be in Pictures

Apparently, Elves are very good at self portraits. Many families have found their digital cameras full of pictures of their Elves in all kinds of crazy poses.

Elves Often Have A Driver's License

If an Elf cannot be found in the morning, the car is the first place to look. Elves are often found in the driver's seat, sitting on a stack of pillows or books. The car may be parked backwards or in a crazy position, and in some cases even down the street or in a neighbor's driveway. Typically, Christmas music is blaring through the speakers and the gas tank is mysteriously closer to empty than before.

Elves Write in Journals

Elves and children often learn more about each other and build bonds by writing letters back and forth. Some Elves arrive with a festively decorated journal to keep all the correspondence in one place. It has been rumored that some Elves only write backwards, so children must hold the note up to the mirror to read it. A few are conversant in Pig Latin or other codes that older kids must decipher.

Elves Tell Potty Jokes, Too

Bathroom humor spans all languages and species. Elves love to turn the toilet water green (with food coloring), decorate Christmas trees in underwear, toilet paper kids rooms or whole houses, and write on bathroom mirrors with mom's lipstick.

Elves Spell Their Names - Everywhere!

Each Elf has a name. Some are named by the children they watch. Others arrive with a note introducing the Elf. Either way, all Elves seem to love to leave their signature as often as possible. Maybe the Elf's name is written in Cheerios, flour, or chocolate syrup on the counter. Other times in toothpaste on the bathroom mirror. Best of all, in food coloring on freshly fallen snow.

Elves Love Things That Remind Them of Home

Cotton ball snowball fights are a favorite past time of elves. Also, Elves often make elf sized snow angels. If real snow is not available, then Insta-Snow or flour make good substitutes. A favorite game for Elves is Candy Lane. If the house does not already have a copy, Elves have been known to bring one from the North Pole as an early Christmas gift.

Elves Do Not Always Come Alone

What could be better than an Elf on the Shelf? Several Elves, of course. That means the mischief can multiply and children awake to elaborate scenes of Elf mayhem. Maybe a Poker game or baseball or football match or a play with Elves in costume (borrowed from other dolls).

Elves Play With Their Neighbor Elves

So many families have their own Elf on a Shelf during the holidays that Elves join with neighbor Elves to increase the fun. Many neighbor elves have been waiting together at the bus stop for their children to arrive. Other Elves Host a Christmas party for neighborhood kids.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless for your elf tradition. Happy Holidays!

Football Pool - How to Organize - Free Football Pool Grid

There are many ways to set up a football pool. Here is one that is very easy to implement:

Decide how much you will charge per square. Usually $1.00 per square for a total pot of $100.00.

Decide how you are going to pay out the pot. Most common is to pay something at the end of each quarter. You can decide what percent of the pot will be paid out each time. For example, 25% after the 1st quarter, 25% after the 2nd quarter and so on until 100% of the pot is paid out.

Decide how winners will be determined. A very common way is to use the "last digit" method. Basically you use the last digits of each team's score and find where those numbers intersect on the grid. If you are not familiar with this method, it is described more thoroughly in a free ebook offered below in the Author's box. It will be easier to understand if you can see the example grid that comes with the ebook.

Now that the decisions have been made, print off a football pool grid (usually an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet with 100 squares that can be filled in with names). In case you need one, the free ebook offered in the Author's box below includes a blank football pool sheet (plus full instructions).

"Sell" squares on the grid until all 100 squares are filled in with the buyer's name. Buyers can purchase multiple squares.

After all squares are filled in with names, draw the numbers that will be filled in along the top and down the left side of the grid. Create 10 small squares of paper and then write one number (zero thru 9) on each. Fold the 10 squares and put them into something to draw from like a hat. Choose somebody to draw one number at a time and fill them in across the top starting from left to right. Fold them back up and do the same for the left side, top to bottom. When finished, the numbers will be in random order.

Enjoy the game and pay out the pot as decided.

Football pools are easy to set up and fun for the participants. Why not organize one for your next football party? Or spice things up at work and do an office football pool with your co-workers?

How To Win At Roulette

I can tell you how to win at roulette, but do you have the patience? You'll have to sit patiently for thousands of spins before you start to make money. You see, it's all about "charting" the roulette wheel.

How To Win At Roulette? Biased Wheels

Years ago, when I ran a roulette table, one of my favorite players and I would talk philosophy all night while he patiently made his simple bets. I knew he was winning, but not how much. After I quit the job, I met him for coffee and discovered that he had made over $90,000 in sixteen months of part-time play. That made it more interesting.

On a roulette wheel there are 38 "pockets" (American wheel - 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00). When the ball falls in a particular pocket, players are paid according to the number of that pocket. We'll ignore all the various bets and concentrate just on the "straight up" bets, which are bets on one number. You get paid 35 to 1 if your number comes up.

You get $35 for each dollar bet, plus you keep the bet. You can see that the house has an edge (5.6 percent, to be precise), but what if certain numbers came up more often than they should - more often than 1-in-38 spins?

Suppose, for example, number 5 is coming up an average of once every 29 spins. If you bet ten dollars on it every time, you would lose 28 times, or $280, every 29 spins, but win once which would pay you $350. In other words, in the long run, you would be making $70 for each 29 spins. ($350 minus $280) When there weren't many customers, I sometimes did 60 or more spins per hour, so you can see that this could be very lucrative.

Why would that number or any other come up more often? The short answer: Who Cares! The longer explanation has to do with the nature of the wheels. The pockets could be manufactured imperfectly, with one or more slightly larger than the others, therefore catching the ball more often. One or more of the dividers between the pockets could be loose, absorbing the force of the ball instead of bouncing it away, so the ball might drop into that pocket more often.

There are other reasons, including more temporary ones, like a drop of sticky pop in one of the pockets, or a build-up of dust. The important point isn't what causes a "biased" wheel, though. The important point is that biased wheels exist, and can be taken advantage of.

Why would a Casino let this happen? Roulette wheels are expensive, and so they are not often replaced, unlike cards and dice, which Casinos replace daily. This means that if there is a bias, it sometimes remains for months. I know for a fact that managers where I worked were aware of the problem, but as long as the table made money overall, they were too lazy to worry about one guy making money on it.

Charting a Roulette Wheel

John (not his real name) came in initially with two friends. They took turns "charting" the wheel, which is nothing more than writing down the number that comes up on every spin. They did this for weeks on both roulette wheels in the Casino. It is an incredibly boring, but crucial part of the process, often amounting to nothing, since there may not be a bias.

As it turned out, the number "0" was coming in 1-in-28 spins. Only John had the patience, though, to continue sitting there night after night, placing one bet on one number, over and over. Within a couple weeks, his friends quit. They didn't have the patience required, and probably also didn't like the fact that even with the odds in their favor, they had nights when they lost as much as $700.

Night after night John sat there discussing politics and philosophy with me, placing one bet on 0 for each spin of the wheel. He was making $50 to $100 per hour depending on the number of spins per hour, and assuming the bias was consistent in the long run. After more than a year, and $90,000 in profits for John, the casino got a new wheel, and (I assume) John moved on to new wheels. That's how to win at roulette.
